Li'l Constructibles is a term-long programme daring kids to do something new! Use STRAWBEES to build a robot racer or shapes that intrigue!

Strawbees is a construction set for you to build things that can stand, move, spin, glide, or even walk across the floor using straws, connectors and micro-bits. This programme is suitable for ages 4 to 8.

Mandarin Story time

Mandarin Storytelling is a fun-filled programme tailored for children and families.

There is no need to book. The session will run for up to 30 minutes and is free. Come along - read, dance, and have fun at your local library. Stories will be presented in Mandarin with English interpretation, and will include technology as well as print.

Sensory Storytime

Listen to a story in our pop-up sensory tent, play with our sensory toys and slime, and explore your senses with a different theme each month!

Storytime Puaawai

Storytime Puaawai is a fun-filled preschool programme tailored specifically for toddlers and pre-schoolers. The programmes feature stories, songs, movement and interactive fun which foster children's literacy. Caregivers can bond with their children while enhancing their social, cognitive, motor and musical skills. Storytime is held weekly during school terms at all libraries.

Looking for a relaxed, fun group where you and your baby or toddler can enjoy music and movement together? It's time to Wriggle & Rhyme! Classes combine singing, movement and rhythm, in a way that will delight and stimulate your child.

Wriggle & Rhyme is aimed at babies and children under two years. Older siblings are welcome.

Storytime at Chartwell Library

 

Occasionally we host Storytime or Wriggle & Rhyme sessions in other languages spoken within our our community, such as New Zealand Sign Language, Arabic, or Afrikaans. Check our Event Calendar to see if there's one coming soon.
