Do you want to learn how to play chess but are unsure of where to start? Join 'Chess: Beginner to Tactician,' a course for 7-14 year olds, designed to teach the basics of chess and build your confidence and skills for your journey.

This weekly course will start with absolute basics, but by the end you will be spotting checkmates, identifying pins and thinking like a pro! You will even learn how to record your games and study from others, using algebraic notation (international chess-speak).

Spaces are limited, so if you're interested, keep an eye on this page for registration details!

Please note children under 14 must always be accompanied by a caregiver in our libraries.
