Learn something new, dust off an existing skill, maybe even gain a new hobby or tackle a DIY project with our Library of Things. Get ready to open up a world of possibilities!
The Library of Things collection items can be hired for $2.50 for up to two weeks for standard items, while Deluxe Items are available for $5 for the same duration. Holds can now be placed on all items in this collection, including Deluxe Items, with a reserve charge of $1.50 applied for this service. Items can be returned to any of our libraries during opening hours.
Please note that overdue charges are 50 cents per day for standard items and $1 per day for Deluxe Items (also known as Best Sellers). Library of Things items can only be issued to adult cardholders, with a borrowing limit of one item at a time.

Terms and Conditions
Hamilton City Library’s Membership terms and conditions apply when you borrow an item from The Library of Things - He Kohikohinga Taonga Collection. These are available from the issue desk. When you borrow these items, you are responsible for:
- Returning it by the due date, clean and in the same condition as when you borrowed it; and
- Any loss, theft or damage that occurs to the item while it is on loan to you (ask at the issue desk for a price list of the items included); and
- Reading and following any instructions included with the item; and
- Using items in a safe and proper manner, and only for the purposes for which it is intended and/or as set out in the instructions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hamilton City Libraries assumes no responsibility or liability for any injuries, damage to self, others, or property as a result of any use or reliance on the item you have borrowed. Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to limit your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
If you discover a fault with the item or if it is damaged, please stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest Hamilton City Library.
