Located on Level One of Hamilton Central Library, Auaha is a space for the community to come and learn how to use creative technologies through self-directed learning. It's a collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring and sharing. You can do projects which require high tech or no tech tools. There is some cool tech available as well as lots of opportunities to explore and find new interests. We are keen to promote sustainability by up-cycling pre-loved materials where possible.
There are no bookings required (except for the studio), you can simply drop in to Auaha any time during our open hours. We also offer classes and sessions that are either drop-in or registration required. To find out what's happening in Auaha, check out What's on, Facebook and our Instagram.
What can I make in Auaha?
If our equipment can make it happen then so can you! To find out what's available, check out the Auaha equipment list.
Anything that you make in Auaha must be in line with our behaviour and equipment guidelines.
What if I don’t know what I’m doing?
As it is a self-directed learning space, we encourage users to teach themselves how to use the equipment and software using the tutorials and resources we provide. If you get REALLY stuck, you are welcome to ask one of our Makerspace staff for help.
