In celebration of the Matariki season, we’re fortunate to have Maaori astronomer and maramataka toohunga, Piripi Lambert facilitating a 3-part workshop as part of Hamilton City Libraries Matariki celebrations.
At these workshops, you’ll get an insight into knowledge of the whetu (stars) and the local narratives of Tainui. You’ll also get a glimpse into how Maaori navigated the world of their time using the maramataka (lunar calendar) and how we can use this amazing resource today.

Prices:
$5 per child ages 4-16
$10 per adult 17+
$20 per family (max 4)
Please note children under 14 must always be accompanied by a caregiver in our libraries.
