Check out an exciting new activation at Te Koopu Maania o Kirikiriroa – Central Library. Come up to Level 2 and enjoy an interactive Maaori art installation that celebrates local Maaori narratives and deepens our connection with this land. This space will invite flexible uses, hosting programmes and events for all Hamiltonians.

On a day-to-day basis Te Paataka will provide quiet study spots, collaborative learning spaces and a kids' corner. The artwork will weave together local Maaori narratives, the natural environment, and the role of libraries as a storehouse of knowledge.

Te Paataka Opening Events

To celebrate the opening of Te Paataka, we have a huge programme of events that will be hosted in this exciting new space during the school holidays. All workshops and events relate to Te Ao Maaori or the natural environment.
