Brrr… winter is here, which makes it the perfect time to curl up with a good book! The Mammoth Winter Reading Challenge is a fun way to read more and try new books.

It’s easy to join: Collect a flyer from your local library starting Monday 29 June, then start ticking off the activities as you read. You can go at your own pace and keep reading right up until the challenge ends on Sunday 19 July.

Everyone who takes part has the chance to win prizes and there are lots of exciting stories to discover. So, join the challenge and let the reading begin!

Ages 0-12

Let the winter reading fun begin!

Tamariki taking part in the Winter Reading Programme will enjoy 4 exciting challenges, plus plenty of time to dive into their favourite books.

Read as much as you like! For every 15 minutes of reading, colour in one triangle on your flyer and watch your progress grow.

Complete at least one activity from the challenge sheet to go into the draw for our mammoth prize packs. Once you have completed at least one challenge, you can keep going and finish the entire challenge, or hand it in at the library.

So grab a book, start colouring, and turn your winter into a reading adventure full of fun and rewards!

Ages 13 - 109

Ready to cosy up with some great reads and win prizes along the way?

Just by signing up, teens and adults are automatically entered into our weekly spot prize draws, so you could win from the very beginning!

Choose from 9 exciting reading challenges and complete at least 3 activities to go into the draw for our grand prize. Once you have completed three challenges, you can keep going and finish the entire challenge, or hand it in at the library.

You can get creative with the flyer: One of the activities includes writing a book review, sharing your thoughts, and inspiring other readers.

So grab a book, get comfy, and let the winter reading adventure begin!
