If you are unable to visit your local library due to temporary or permanent disability or illness, the library can come to you! Just let us know and someone from the library will visit you to evaluate your needs and find out your reading, watching or listening interests.
Library staff will select items based on your interests, and library volunteers will deliver and pick them up for you every four weeks on a Tuesday morning.
You can have up to 50 items a month, and use our service permanently, temporarily, occasionally, or even during hospital stays or other short-term situations that prevent you from visiting the library in person for health and wellbeing reasons.
This service is available to all ages who reside in their own homes, as well as in care homes, retirement villages, rest homes, hospital wards, and hospice.
If you're interested in this service, please contact our Whakaahu Service Development Team, or phone on 07 838 6824.
