This winter holiday, embark on an exciting adventure with Tooku Maunga: My Mountain Winter Reading Programme! This unique programme invites you to climb your very own Maunga of knowledge and fun by completing various challenges and reading a diverse selection of books. You will not only broaden your horizons but also become a kaitiaki, or guardian, of our planet.
Plus, there are thrilling events happening at your local library. Joining is a breeze—simply visit your library to pick up your folder and start your journey.

How does it work?
From Monday 23 June, you can sign up at one of our libraries and collect your Winter Reading Programme folder. The folder contains sixteen challenges which can be completed in any order. One of the challenges is to get your folder stamped as you visit all of our branches. As you read your favourite books, you can also colour in a white ‘X’ of the maunga for every 5 minutes you spend reading. Keep track of your books on the reading log provided in the folder and write reviews on the bookmarks provided. All participants who sign up to the Winter Reading Programme will go in the draw to win weekly spot prizes.
Where to sign up?
You can sign up for this year's Winter Reading Programme at any of our locations starting Monday 23 June. To register, simply bring your library card. A librarian will assist you by taking your information and providing you with a Winter Reading Programme folder.
