The Historic Photographs collection held by Hamilton City Libraries consists of over 86,000 individual items.
The Collection includes images from the 1860s onwards, showcasing Hamilton and Waikato through the decades.
As images are digitised, they are made available via our Heritage Collections online, but like many heritage collections we don't always have information provided with the items. We encourage contributions of information to our images either via comments online or by contacting our Photographs Librarian.
We are continually learning and researching about our collection, so if you are looking for an image that isn't available on our online platform, please contact us as it may be here, just not available yet.
Many of our images are available for personal use, JPEGs are downloadable for free via our online platform. If you wish to request a high-resolution TIFF, there is a charge of $20, and you can make your request using the form below.
