A thrilling halloween escape room event

Halloween came alive at Hamilton City Libraries with our Zombie Escape Room. Designed for kids aged 8 to 12, teams raced against the clock to solve five spooky puzzles and complete their mission, with the fastest team taking home the prize.

The event was created to encourage children to visit the library and enjoy a fun Halloween celebration with friends. One of the clever puzzles had teams using a torch to reveal hidden messages, where letters of each word were split across two pages. The kids had to match them up correctly to read the full message.

A total of 57 kids joined the thrilling challenge. Every participant went home with a zombie key-ring and the winning team received a headstone trophy, all 3D printed in our Makerspace. Parents raved about the experience, saying "We had a great time at the Zombie Apocalypse Escape Room last night. It was such a fun and thrilling experience."

Library staff were buzzing with excitement too, enjoying the event as much as the kids. It was a spook-tacular success and a Halloween to remember.
