Comic Book Month Competition - September 2026
Wednesday 21 October 2026
Events
For Comic Book Month, September 2026, Hamilton City Libraries held a competition for kids to flex their creative muscles and have a go at drawing their own comic book or manga.
62 total entries were received!
They were all laid out for our staff to pick their favourites. Our winners stood out by showing off their artistic style, memorable characters, thoughtful use of space and impactful comedic timing. There were also many other entries that impressed us with their style, use of colour and some even wrote multi-page comics!
Thanks to all who entered. We can foresee lots of talented artists and authors in Hamilton's future!
Winner for age group 5-7: Hazel
Winner for age group 8-10: Coco
Winner for age group 11-13: Xiran
Prizes
The prizes for our winners included board games and, of course, comics!
