Three unknown men in the era of narrow ties
For quite some years now, researchers, historians and genealogists have had great benefit from our collection of photographs. Generous folk donate negatives and prints ranging from collections of one item to much larger numbers. Two essential things happen in such cases; one is the physical items in our care will be looked after for hundreds of years (potentially anyway) and the other very important thing is that the history of Hamilton and environs is publicly available.
Here is a bit of history then. Three chaps, standing together (because someone told them to?) said to be at an Ellis & Burnand function thought to be a farewell. It’s not known when, but the ties suggest the 1960s to early/mid-1970s. That was the era of the narrow tie. Now, the obvious question: anyone know who they are? It certainly predates coloured shirts.
