“Do you know that in your own home you can hear the famous scotch band now playing at the Dunedin Exhibition?” A remarkable technological advancement is advertised in this flier dating from c.1925.

J. S. Anchor & Co were located at 10 Ward St and were available to demonstrate their radio sets in your home. At the time there were seven stations broadcasting regularly across New Zealand, only four years after Professor Robert Jack had first experimented with broadcasting via radio waves.

J. S. Anchor & Co first advertised in the Waikato Times in 1920 as wholesale and retail plumbers, before later also expanding to sell hardware and radios.
