This flier, dated May 1921, was distributed by B. H. Goldsmith to announce the establishment of his business on London Street. Mr. Goldsmith established his business here after being the Chief Electrical Engineer of the Electricity Supply Corp. (NZ) Ltd. This business would have been taking advantage of the increasing expansion of electricity supply, as the first large-scale power station in New Zealand, Horahora, was completed in 1913.
While we may think that free quotes are a modern marketing tool, Mr Goldsmith was clearly ahead of his time offering the same service.
