This workshop is designed for the poetically-curious and experienced poet alike. Learn how to poetically unpack the “big themes”, using simile and metaphor. Creative play is key to our approach, and through a series of exercises, you will finish up with one handmade zine, packed with fresh new lines of poetry.

Aimee-Jane Anderson-O’Connor is a Kirikiriroa writer, collage maker and dabbler. She believes in the power of community, collaboration, and imagination.

This workshop is for teens and adults.

Be sure to register as soon as possible as spots are limited.

This Poetry Zine Workshop is an event that is part of Zinefest - our main event is held at Hamilton Central Library on the 17th May.

Zines are short run, self-published magazines that allow your imagination to run wild! Full of comics, collage, fan-art, photo essays and more, Zines draw inspiration from anywhere and everywhere.
