Interactive first aid and wellbeing activities with St John Community Education

This program aims to develop confident young New Zealanders who care for the health and wellbeing of their communities and provides young people with the skills and knowledge to respond in an emergency and keep themselves and others safe.

Sessions are aimed at 3 to 7-year-olds or young people 8 years and over. Activities include:

  • Exploring multiple first aid scenarios.

  • How to check for dangers around patients and check for a response.

  • Practice placing unresponsive patients on their side.

  • How to treat severe bleeding.

  • Mindfulness breathing exercises.

  • Look at ways to cope in times of challenge through catch, check, change.

Please note children under 14 must always be accompanied by a caregiver in our libraries.
