St Andrews Library exterior, with the words TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Due to major electrical maintenance work, St Andrews Library will temporarily close from 5.30pm Thursday 30 May and will reopen on Tuesday 4 June. The after hours returns chute and APNK Wi-Fi at St Andrews Library will also be unavailable during this time.

Items can be returned to any of our other libraries during this time. The closest libraries are Chartwell Library, Te Kete Aronui, Dinsdale Library, and Central Library.

Any holds still waiting to be collected from St Andrews Library on Thursday, July 5, will automatically have their pick-up date extended until 8 July, so they can be collected after the closure.

If your hold arrives during the closure period, library staff will contact you directly to ask if there's another library to which you would like it transferred.

You can also change the pickup library for your holds yourself via your online account - for guidance, see the Holds section in the My Account FAQ.

If you are unable to get to another library to return your items, and you are unable to renew them online, please contact us for an extension.

This maintenance work requires the building's electricity to be shut off. The returns chute requires power to detect and open for library items, and to scan them. Additionally, no library staff will be on-site during this period to clear the returns.

No, as the electricity for the building needs to be shut off during the maintenance work, APNK wi-fi will not be available. You can use free wi-fi at our other libraries.
