Large Print Books

We have an extensive Large Print collection available at all our libraries. They are available in both fiction and non-fiction titles, with many of our standard print books, best sellers, and New Zealand titles also available.

Talking books and eAudiobooks

All our libraries hold Talking Book titles, which are audiobooks in CD format. We have adult and children’s talking books available. All talking books are free to borrow for 28 days.

Dyslexia-Friendly Books

We have a number of dyslexia-friendly books for children, teens and adults. Pages and print are formatted in a way designed to make reading more accessible to people with dyslexia and other print disabilities.

Reading Chinese Book

World Languages

Our World Languages collection contains over 3,000 books for adults and hundreds of children's books in more than 30 different languages. We have magazines in Chinese, Hindi, Tamil and Korean.


ESOL learning collection

All our libraries hold ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) learners books, to help you practise your English or study for English literacy, vocabulary and grammar. IELTS (International English Language Testing System) study books and CDs are also available in our collection.

You can also practise and study online by accessing Road to IELTS using your library card.

BookLink App

BookLink is a secure lending library app provided by Blind + Low Vision NZ (formerly Blind Foundation) that allows people who are blind, have low vision or who have a print disability to download audiobooks. In order to use BookLink, you must be registered with Blind + Low Vision NZ as a member or associate member.
