The spirit of Christmas

HCLE 00225tile

Singing carols is always a good way to get into the spirit of Christmas! This souvenir programme is from the Carols by Candlelight Hamilton Christmas Festival, held at Hamilton High School on 18 December 1949. Proceeds from the event were divided equally between the N.Z. Crippled Children Society (Waikato Branch) and the Hamilton Branch of the Y.W.C.A. The carols were led by the Hamilton Civic Choir, assisted by members of Church Choirs of Hamilton and accompanied by the Hamilton Salvation Army Band, Hamilton Citizens’ Band and the Cambridge Municipal Band. A range of carols were sung, before ending with God Save the King.
