What is Ephemera?

Ephemera is defined as an item that is designed to be ephemeral, with a set life span, usually an item that would be discarded after use such as a poster, programme, menu, pamphlet or other advertising material.

Ephemera is a useful social history resource as it offers insights into life and society that may not be captured elsewhere.
